Monday Making

I like to keep busy.
Knitting these little dishcloths is the perfect little project.
It MOVES with me.
;)
I don't need to keep a pattern nearby.
When I DO try the more difficult knitting projects....
My pattern and notes are SO HARD to keep track of!

I've also been picking lots of vegetables....
and cooking it!
;)
We're all enjoying the fruit of my husband's LABOR!

What are you up to this week?
This is a weekly linky party.
It's always FUN to see what you CREATIVE people are making!

Monday Making

Now isn't that bird flannel fabric the sweetest??
It's been in my stash and I finally used it.
Yeah!!!
I made this little flannel blanket for my friend.
Her baby is due ANY day!
I'm prepared.
Gasp!
Two sides of flannel with some little ribbon tags
and a nice orange quilting/running stitch ALL AROUND to give it
that homemade "I love you" kind of touch!
;)

(how-to video on the blanket is here if you're interested)

The two books (two of my favorites)
are for big brother!!
You can't go wrong with those little golden books!

If you haven't read 'Home for a Bunny'
you've missed out.
It has a special place in my heart.
It's not about adoption...
but I see that theme in it.
My adopted daughter wanted me to read it
OVER and over again when she was little.
At my house....
we ALL know this one BY HEART!

"In the spring a bunny came down the road.
He was going to find a home of his own.
A home for a bunny.
A home of his own.
Under a rock.
Under a log.
Under a stone.
Where would a bunny find a home?"

It's almost Monday at my house.

What are YOU making this week??

Friday

They are DONE.
Woo HOO!!

This twin sized matching set is now ready for it's new home.

I love the soft colors.....
and of course green and blue are such a GREAT combo.

Using vintage with a dash of current fabric
is ALSO a great combo!

Happy sewing friends!

Thrifty Thursday

As I drove through my neighborhood earlier this week
I spied an estate sale.

I bought two things.
A small bit of Old fabric
and THIS.

It has not had a happy few years, I'm sure.
:(
It is made with wool, polyester
and a host of other fabrics!
The batting is wool
and this baby is HEAVY!!!
It is also full of moth holes....
Mostly around the edges.

It was worth the couple of dollars
just to have her pulled from beneath the furniture she was protecting
(in the garage)
and bring her home!

I laid her out on the grass and hosed her off.
Poor thing!!

She hasn't seen the light of day in YEARS
and I SHOCKED her into 2015
by spraying her off!!!

I will try VERY hard not to buy any more old quilts.
I am not a collector...
I am trying to convince myself of THAT!.....   ;)
but I do FEEL for these old patchwork masterpieces!

It's Monday.
It's HOT.
No....
It's Hotter than hot at my house....
And I quilted this weekend!!

Good thing there was fan right ABOVE me!!!
;)

This week you'll find me binding.
LOTS of binding to be hand sewn
on two matching twin sized quilts!

What are YOU up to???

I found this quilt yesterday at the thrift store....

Lulu SHOULD be proud!

The blocks and hand quilting are AMAZING!

Happy Wednesday friends!!!

Monday Making

Good Morning friends.
It's Monday here and I'm ready to begin a FUN week of MAKING.

I'm working away on weaving this wrap/shawl on my loom.
It was SO fun to pull a bunch of yarn to warp this with.
I'm weaving with a fuzzy THIN yarn that was given to me.
It has little BITS of color and that  makes the weaving
a surprise...
which I LIKE!
Where will the little bits of color pop out????

I'm also contemplating this pattern.
My daughter plans on using cloth diapers.
DO I make a few of these????
How do I make them?
What fabric should I use???

What are YOU making this week???

Link up and share.

Friday Finish

Don't you just love these soft blues and greens??
I do.

This quilt contains lots of vintage linen...
PLUS a host of this and that from my stash.

What a wonderful mix of color!

This commissioned quilt gets to have a TWIN!!
I'll be sewing more of these beautiful squares together this week.

My sewing machine is very happy to be piecing all this gorgeous color!

Simple dresses for Lori

Lori, over at Humble quilts, asked for some simple dresses.
She will be taking them to Bolivia in the fall.

I enjoyed a little break from quilt making
and made some DRESSES!
The pattern I used is found here.

It took a while to DIG in the stash and find some pretty fabric.
Then.....to DIG some more and find coordinating prints for pockets.
Then....to DIG around some more and find the seam binding
and rick rack to match!!!!

Putting the dress together is a CINCH if it weren't for all the DIGGING!
LOL!

Happy sewing (and digging) to YOU!!!

Monday Making

Hello Friends!
Time for a little Monday Making!

I'm cutting up a new quilt this week
and doing some quilter's math.

TWO.

FOUR.

EIGHT.

When I get a bunch of EIGHTS I'll get into some DOUBLE digits....
Maybe I'll even make it to some TRIPLE digits!!!
Let's HOPE so!!

This is the beginning of TWO twin sized quilts.
TWO sort of Matching SCRAP quilts.
Now THAT's something that hasn't been done at MY house before!!!
Have YOU ever made TWO scrap quilts that SORT of match??

It's YOUR turn.
What are you making this week????
